Davis has authored numerous non-fiction
stories and news articles about military service members
in past and present wars and conflicts. Davis holds
a great respect for the men and women in uniform who
serve our country and encourages continued prayer
and support for our Nation, her leaders, and her defenders.
"Do
you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the
everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding
no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow
tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but
those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run
and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
Isaiah 40:28-31
Anything
good that comes from this project is for God's glory.
He is my ultimate inspiration and I believe He has
given me the desire to write. I have been blessed
by witnessing the courageous lives of many friends
who are serving and have served in the military. Their
personal sacrifices and dedication to preserving freedom
and liberty at home and around the world inspires
me as I know it inspires others.
Current
events have also triggered a lot of the themes in
this book. Readers will sit in on meetings and strategy
dialogue in the upper echelons of the U.S. military
as well as within the walls of the White House. Of
course, it is purely a fictional plot with created
characters; but there is a thread of truth woven through
the story for those who have the eyes to see it. The
everyday situations and concerns that involve the
main characters throughout the plot gives the readers
a glimpse into the lives of these everyday heroes
and what they go through.
The
Façade is dedicated to those serving
in harm's way in the current War on Terror. I don't
claim to have written an authoritative account of
their lives; because no one can do that, if you haven't
lived it yourself. But my desire in writing The Façade
was to give readers an engaging story about what might
or could be happening in today's military and political
arena.
Being
a writer gives me the opportunity to create a million
different "what if" situations and scenarios
and scenarios that spin off of current events. I find
it fascinating to study the global and national complexities
going on today. It's easy to lose sight of the fact
that behind every political or military power there
are the faces of average men and women doing their
very best for the sake of their country. There are
many thought-provoking elements in The Façade
that I think will both entertain and move readers
on a variety of levels.
